Many people who lose weight after suffering years or decades of obesity end up with loose skin folds that cannot be resolved through exercise. These skin folds cause postural issues, skin chafing and flapping noises and lead patients to feel less satisfied with their weight changes after Bariatric surgery or other weight loss efforts.
Cosmetic Plastic Surgery is the next step for reducing unwanted skin folds, redundant skin and creepy-looking skin as well as mal-distributed adipose tissues in areas of the body such as the waist, abdomen/torso, upper torso, back, breasts, face, neck, upper arms and thighs.

About The Procedure:
UPPER BODY LIFT
Surgery for Upper – body – lift consists of a single or multiple procedures, including an upper – arm –lift, breast lift (also called gynecomastia) or surgery to remove excess, accumulated fat along the back. After liposuction or excessive weight loss, the excessive skin, that sags, is removed to create a sleek and well – contoured body. It improves a person’s appearance and assures him of a greater self – esteem.
Mid-body lift focuses on the tummy region in addition to the buttocks, flanks, and thighs. Incisions are made in the lower abdomen down to the thighs, and then excess skin and fat is trimmed away. In addition, the muscles in the abdomen are tightened, creating a tauter stomach-region and giving the waistline a more physically fit appearance. This procedure is performed under general anesthesia.
Lower Body Lift
Lower body lift focuses the mid-section of the body, including the flanks, outer thighs, buttocks and lower abdomen. An incision is made across the lower part of the abdomen down to the inner thighs. Loose skin will be removed and the remaining skin will be tightened, giving the lower section of the body a greatly improved aesthetic. Lower body lift is performed under general anesthesia.
Total Body Lift
A total body lift is designed to eliminate extra fat and loose skin from virtually every area of the body, including the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, arms, flanks, and breasts. An incision is made around the entire circumference of the body, and then excess skin in areas in the mid and lower body is removed and the remaining skin is pulled taut. Similar techniques are then performed on the arms and breasts.
Total body lift is a complex procedure performed under general anesthesia, and patients should expect a longer recovery period than those of lower and mid-body lifts.
PREPARING FOR YOUR BODY LIFT
Preparation is a key factor in determining the ease and success of your recovery after your body lift. At Sudeep we will discuss with you in detail how best to prepare for your surgery in order to ensure a safe and rapid recovery process. Some of the most important pre-surgical preparatory steps include:
- Stabilize your weight: Your weight should be stabilized for three months prior to your body lift, within a range of 2-3 pounds.
- Maintain a healthy lifestyle: Exercising and eating a balanced diet helps your body to build and preserve the muscle mass it will need in order to handle the post-surgical metabolic demands that will be placed on it.
- Ensure that you are getting enough sleep
- Prepare nutritious, protein-rich foods ahead of time: According to the Registered Dietician, your body will need 75 to 100 grams of protein each day in order to promote proper healing after your body lift.
